Expression of Interest: Vacant TTACT Board Director Positions

Table Tennis ACT is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from passionate and skilled individuals to join our TTACT Board.

As we continue to grow and strengthen our association, we are looking for individuals who can contribute to the wellbeing of our club and members. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the sport and its participants.

We are committed to building a diverse and effective Board. We are also actively seeking to enhance our diversity on the Board and encourage applications from individuals from all backgrounds.

The nominations committee has identified an ideal set of skills that the board should possess. While all relevant experience will be considered, we are particularly interested in candidates with attributes to fill gaps and add to existing board members’ strengths:

Highly Desirable

  • Governance: Understanding of best practices in board governance, compliance, and legal responsibilities for not-for-profit organizations.   Ability to ensure legal and ethical compliance, uphold transparency and accountability to members. 

Desirable

  • Strategic planning - ability to help define and champion the club's vision, set realistic and sustainable goals aligned with member and community needs, and guide resource allocation for long-term growth.
  • Risk management - ability to identify and assess diverse club-specific risks (operational, financial, reputational, and safety), oversee the implementation of proportionate mitigation strategies, ensure basic compliance, and foster a club-wide culture of proactive risk awareness.
  • HR management experience – Experience and/or ability to strategically oversee volunteer and paid staff management, foster a positive club culture and ensure people-related risk compliance (like child protection and Code of Conduct breaches).
  • OH&S Management Skills- understanding of duty of care, ability to identify and oversee basic risk management for sporting hazards and facilities, ensure compliance with relevant safety policies (including child protection), and foster a proactive safety culture among members and volunteers.
  • Marketing skills / experience - ability to promote the club, attract and retain members and volunteers, engage the local community.
