The Junior Pennant Competition is back!

The last Junior Pennant at the TTACT was in Term 2,  2021.  For background context, Quy Cao and Larry Lim, as volunteer coaches, ran the Junior Pennant competition from 2017 to 2021.  The junior only paid $10 each from memory for the 5 main rounds and 2 final rounds (SF, GF).  A team of two players with a reserve list. Team matches were 5 rubbers comprising of 4 singles matches and 1 double match. A match was best of 5 games. The winner team won a very nice junior Trophy each.

We are proposing to start the Junior Pennant Competition again either in Term 4 or Term 1 2027 depending on the number of participating juniors.  However, we are hoping to start in the coming Term 4 Spring Juniors Pennant!  If we receive interests of 8 teams, the Junior Pennant will start from Saturday 17/10/2026 to Saturday 12/12/2026; otherwise we will finish on Saturday 28/11/2026 for 5 rounds + 2 finals.

The proposed Junior Pennant format are:

Max. teams: 6 teams (12 players) or 8 teams (16 players)
A team of 2 players with a reserves list
Pennant duration: 6 teams: 5 rounds + Semi Final + Grand Final (total 7 weeks) or 8 teams: 7 rounds + Semi Final + Grand Final (total 9 weeks).  
Cost: $50 per person per pennant

Format: 2 players team, 5 matches with 4 singles, 1 double; best of 3 games per match for all matches (may increase to best of 5 games per match for Single match and best of 3 for Double only depending on available time)
Prizes: Winner team Trophies and certificates; Runner-up certificates; Best Player certificate; Most Improved certificate

Time: Saturday 4.30pm – 6.30pm
Venue: Kingston
 
The current Saturday Junior Group coaching session will be changed to
Saturday Junior Group Coaching: 2.30pm – 4.30pm
Junior Pennant: 4.30pm – 6.30pm
